Scientists from the Lithuanian Social Research Centre together with colleagues from other Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries (Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia) are carrying out a research “Articulation of the Trade Unions’ Strategies on upward convergence of social standards in the enlarged European Union – voice of CEE countries”, aimed at analysis of trade unions’ abilities to undertake effective actions at EU level aiming at upward convergence of social standards and welfare systems in the EU in the context of clear disparity in industrial relations systems among EU countries and the weak EU level industrial relations in CEE countries.

On 12 June 2019 researchers of the Labour Market Research institute of the LSRC participated in a meeting with representatives of main Lithuanian trade unions – Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation and Lithuanian Trade Union “Solidarumas” to discuss role of Lithuanian trade unions in the EU social dialogue.
