Lithuanian Social Research Centre since 2020 February 1 has launched, as a collaborative partner, the Horizon 2020 project entitled „The Future of European Social Citizenship“ (EUSOCIALCIT). The lead institution and project coordinator is the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Project leader: Dr. Frank Vandenbroucke. The project will provide scientific analysis and examine policy scenarios to strengthen European social citizenship. The LSRC part of the project deals with the enforcement and promotion of housing policy and housing rights in Europe. Special attention is devoted to social housing, support to mitigate homelessness in all its forms, and other kinds of financial support to “first home” buyers and/or renters via tax credits and subsidies. How are housing rights exercised, e.g. through housing movements, struggles over public space, through NGOs? What are innovative policy solutions to overcome housing problems? Is there a convergence or divergence in housing policy solutions and outcomes in Europe?
